Can you overlay with hard gel even though you did your base with soft gel? Like you use a rubber base, gel tips, soak off builder gel but you do this method of sparing 2mm from the cuticle and overlay with… hard gel? Or is that not really done? Since putting hard gel over soft gel is like a no no?

Do I still need to apply for a salon license through the state board of cosmetology? I’m in the process of getting a permit for home occupation from my local zoning and i plan on getting a llc

I'm a prospective client looking for a certain look that I can't seem to get when I go to a nail salon. So often there's so much trickery, racism, back stabbing, and dishonesty happening at nail salons. I would LOVE to go get my nails done at a home of someone who acts professional, the being professional is key for me it's not very often that people are. You get nasty attitudes, rudeness, only being nice to you if they think you have money, only being nice to white people in the salon... I could go on but you get it. I would love to have the service and not have to listen to other client's screaming kids or nail artists shouting across the room in another language making me feel uncomfortable. Women are looking for a professional spa like environment. As long as I could get the look I wanted and it'a clean nice environment with no screaming kids, the tech could do it outside for all I care.

Hi! I want to start doing my own gel nails, I’ve done them twice before so far. I was just wondering what should I do if I do flood my cuticles with gel and get it on the sides of my finger? Do I wipe it off with acetone? Or would you recommend using a thin nail art type of brush to spread the gel to the sides of the nail instead after just putting gel nearer to the middle of the nail which might be tedious but I’m really worried about an allergy? Also I leave a long time in between like at least two months (I don’t have much time I’m at school), so if I were to occasionally get gel on the skin and wipe it away would chances of an allergy be low as you mentioned going nails every two weeks. Do yo have to cure the overlay before adding gel polish?

I am not sure what product is on my real nail... acrylic overlay? I would like to transition to doing my own gel at home on just my real nail without the overlay. I usually go 2-3 weeks for a fill and color change. Can I use a Dremel to remove the gel and the overlay product? Thanks!
